This page describes how Tendwa sends SMS messages on behalf of the tire shops that use our software. It is intended both for shop operators and for the customers receiving messages.
What messages we send
SMS sent through Tendwa are transactional only. Typical message types include:
- Appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Vehicle ready-for-pickup notifications.
- Service status updates (e.g., parts arrived, work in progress).
- Payment receipts and invoice links.
We do not use the SMS channel for marketing or promotional content. Shops that want to send marketing must use a separate, dedicated channel and obtain marketing-specific consent.
How customers opt in
A shop customer is opted in when they:
- Provide their mobile number directly to the shop, by telephone or in person, and
- Affirmatively agree, after the shop reads them the consent disclosure, to receive service-related SMS.
A shop employee then records the consent in Tendwa before messaging is enabled. The record stores the number, the consent status and method, the date and time, the employee who collected it, and the version of the disclosure that was read. The full process and exact wording are documented on our SMS Consent page.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by service. A typical visit results in 1–4 messages (confirmation, reminder, ready notice, follow-up). Shops cannot exceed reasonable transactional volumes via Tendwa.
How to opt out
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from a Tendwa-powered shop. We will:
- Confirm the opt-out with a single final message.
- Stop all future SMS from that shop within minutes.
- Honour STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT.
Reply HELP to any message for support information.
Carrier and pricing notice
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier. Tendwa does not charge customers for SMS. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Compliance
Our SMS practices follow the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook, and applicable Canadian CASL rules. Shop operators are contractually required to honour these same standards when using Tendwa.
Data sharing
Mobile numbers and SMS consent records are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
